ProAct’s research and development strategy is focused on evolving its logistics platform to adopt a microservices-based architecture. This shift allows the company to introduce new services more efficiently, while significantly enhancing the performance, scalability, and flexibility of its application suite. The microservices model also improves system reliability and supports faster deployment cycles, which is particularly valuable in the dynamic logistics and supply chain sector.
In parallel, ProAct is advancing its data strategy with a strong emphasis on transforming how clients utilise logistics data.
This includes investment in:
Together, these initiatives position ProAct as a forward-thinking technology partner. It's platform not only facilitates execution and visibility but also delivers advanced supply chain intelligence, enabling clients to optimise operations and navigate complex global logistics challenges with confidence.
We are in the midst of probably one of the most prolific periods of change in the automotive industry for generations. Disruption is everywhere, often unpredictable and impacting every facet of automotive, not least the finished vehicle supply chain. ProAct understands that finished vehicle supply chains are inherently and increasingly complex, dynamic and unique, that decision-making is driven by countless variable parameters and that vehicle logistics has a myriad of nuances not seen in most other types of supply chains. Only a highly-flexible, highly configurable solution, built specifically for the industry can address these global, multi-modal challenges, both today or in the future and deliver true end-to-end visibility.
Accuracy and efficiency are all basic customer expectations in today’s market, they are no longer differentiators. However efficient you may think you are, however large and sophisticated your yards or compounds may be, in order to thrive or even survive in the future world of automotive logistics, you will need to be a whole lot more than just an efficient storage and handling facility.
Adaptability, flexibility and configurability have always been ProAct’s mantra when it comes to the software solutions that support change. At the core of our solutions is the process digitalisation engine (PDE) a unique technology that offers unparalleled levels of sophistication and agility, be that within yard management or indeed the entire factory to consumer supply chain. The PDE is about knowledge automation, the ability for complex business processes and decisions to be optimised, digitised and executed autonomously (always of course, with the ability for users to intervene) and accurately in response to and in context of real-time changes in the operational environment.
ProAct provides an Inspection and Survey mobile solution that can be used as an integrated part of the wider solution or as a standalone solution. Using mobile handheld devices (eg, Android / iOS), the application allows for the surveying/inspecting of vehicles based on specific user defined survey templates. These templates can be specific to many different attributes of the vehicle and supports the recording of damages codes and reasons (AIAG default), multiple annotatable photographs, ‘splat’ diagrams, signatures and a variety of other input types. Survey/inspections can be saved ‘draft’ or submitted immediately to the central server, when it can be viewed, reviewed and analysed or passed on to other interested parties via automated creation and emailing of PDF reports.
ProAct has its roots operating within the Warehouse Management market since the late 90’s implementing solutions for large global 3PLs and in regions including US, Mexico, Europe and Asia. In fact our oldest customer (some 25 years on) is a major UK government department warehousing and distributing a diverse range of products to its 200+ facilities.
ProAct’s warehouse management solution is a capable mid-range solution suited to both small and large facilities and supports many of the more sophisticated requirements of warehouse management. Full handheld and truck mount device based activities is also supported as well as integration capabilities to electronically capture such data and pre-advices and orders.
Virtually all supply chains are being impacted by the effects of globalisation, geopolitics, changing technologies and erratic economies. The result is increasingly unpredictable demand and in turn unpredictable volume. In such an environment, managing cash-flow within a business becomes key. Dealing with these pressures on a day-to-day basis and making the best decisions in a dynamic and fluid environment relies on real-time visibility and control. In a freight network supply chain scenario this requires the individual distribution planners to have the maximum visibility of freight orders and their status across their entire network.
The ability to inspect and survey cargo is also a capability of the ProAct suite of products, either running standalone or as an integrated part of a supply chain process. Such inspections and surveys can be used both in the context of quality and damage inspection and recording, but also in surveying of cargo for many other purposes.
Within the main functionality of the ProAct solution exists the ability for the system to automatically create multi-modal routes spanning multiple continents or equally shorter more local routes. By interfacing to a trusted third-party CO2 calculator, ProAct can obtain accurate emissions data for each component of the multi-modal transport route and provide an overall projection of the total emissions for a given vehicle and route.
ProAct supports the interfacing to vessel tracking solutions to obtain vessel data such as GPS location, heading, speed and ETA into next port. Based on the vessel manifests created or held in the ProAct solution, the solution can make calls to the third-party tracking system to obtain real-time data. Using this data the solution can show the position of all the relevant vessels on a world map and allow the user to select a vessel to see the vehicles assigned.

ProAct solutions provide a number of options for the provision of MIS. As part of the core solution offering, ProAct provides an optional interactive Dashboarding capability providing intuitive chart based analysis of both current operational and historical data. These charts allow the user to click and drill down on individual areas. Out of the box charts are provided with the option for the client to request further charts.
The client also has the ability to stream data from the ProAct application into their own data repository for reporting or indeed to use their own their own third party BI tools to report directly on database views provided by ProAct.
